As a former professional builder, I know that hours are often taken into account. That's why I built this scrambler as a private project. No attention has been paid to hours. More than half a year this engine has been built. And that is visible! This scrambler has a very high level of finishing. Every part and bolt has gotten his attention.
The base is a Honda SLR with few kilometers. Known for: reliable, torque and manoeuvrable. The engine is also suitable for an A2 driver's license. But don't underestimate the thick 650cc single-pitched engine: it has enough punch to pop a wheely! Present: 2 sets of keys (contact and fuel cap).
Subframe professionally adapted with mounts for electronic components. Seat and subframe fit together seamlessly with the same curve.
New DT125 tank with spare stand and lockable cap.
New seat upholstered by Miller Upholstery with brown leather tuck'n roll.
New Renthal MX handlebar.
New Domino grips.
New Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR and inner tubes.
(Tires have off-road look, but are designed for street use. Also OEM supplied under e.g. Ducati, so safe and grip!).
New Bates style halogen headlight and rear light (E-approved).
New mudguards and custom license plate holder.
New cutters.
New gold colored Prox X-chain and gears.
New EBC brake pads.
New illuminated speedometer with neutral, high beam, flashing lights (LED).
New K&N air filter, K&N crankcase valve.
New stainless steel GP damper with removable db-killer.
New battery and clutch cable, NGK spark plug and Honda oil filter.
Also technically tackled such as new front fork bearings and many new rubber parts such as inlet seal rubber, float bucket gasket, oil seals etc. All service parts are original Honda. As many (imbus) bolts and nuts as possible are galvanized and self-locking.
Of course all oils are replaced: engine, front fork and brake fluid. Carb is rejet.
All parts are provided with the best primer: 2K epoxy. And finished with 2K High Solid clear finish. So scratch resistant, resistant to chemicals and possibly afterwards polishable.
The result is a cool one-of-a-kind Scrambler. Reliable, solidly built and legally sound. Oh yes, in reality more beautiful than in the picture!
