BMW R80 RT "The Blackdown"
Up for sale my unique, super cool, 1984 BMW R80 RT, and is therefore free of road tax.
Bikes like this one don’t come up often!
Forks and shock:
- new black /orange YSS 410mm rear shock
- Front suspension and brakes comes from a Kawasaki Z1000
- triple clamps from Kawasaki ZX1000
- new flat handlebars with 22-28mm diameter by Rizoma
- new rubber hand grips
Tank and seat:
- custom made seat and saddle
- Tank from BMW R45 with a very rare toolbox. Lid wrapped with carbon and with a transparent window. (to see a navigator) There is a USB socket underneath with a cable that comes into the lid for smartphone charging.
Engine, gearbox, and transmission:
- all engine cleaned from inside out
- engine completely overhauled
- new valve guides, gaskets, grommets, seals, new clutch friction plate replaced with an oil resistant one and heavy duty, pushrod seals, stretch transmission bolts and nuts, oil filter - temperature gauge on oil dipstick
- engine sump extension to increase oil capacity
- impressive, deep sound from the after market exhaust
Fuel and air system:
- new fuel filter and hoses
- ultrasonic cleaned Bing carburetors
- new choke stainless steel system
- new seals and gaskets everywhere
- new air filters with an original air intake
- new engine cover
Brakes:
- new front double brake discs and brake pads
- renewed NISSIN calipers
- stainless steel brake lines
Electric:
- new wiring harness throughout the bike
- Motogadget M-unit Blue with alarm and keyless ignition and unlocking using just your phone via Bluetooth, and many more features
- battery hidden under the seat, securely mounted in made bracket welded to the frame
- a new classic front light with LED light and LED indicators in bunble.
- Motogadget Tiny speedometer with their speedo adapter, easy to switch miles/km
- rear frame with built-in multifunctional LED strip for the brake and turn signal lights.
