I brought the bike (Honda CB 750 Nighthawk 1982) from Canada in 1999. I think the Nighthawk model was not sold in Europe, at least in Portugal I am sure. So it is a somewhat exclusive model.
Since then the motorcycle has rolled very little, only a few kilometres in the summers. It has a total of 11.000 km. The engine and all the mechanics are in very good condition. Provides smooth yet powerful driving.
This year I decided to turn into Café Racer to give it a more attractive look.
It was transformed but with few changes. The wheels, the tires and the headlight are the original. I made a new seat in light brown leather with the hand grips of the same leather, I painted the whole motorcycle, engine, tank and other small parts in the original colour, black. The remaining parts were just cleaned. Replaced the indicators, rear light and speedometer.
I confess it was a nice experience to transform the bike and now I’m a Cafe Racer fan. I am thinking of transforming another in 2019, I am just looking for the right bike and model.
