You know how it goes: you got these beautiful new LED turn signals for your motorcycles but since then, the flashing speed is no longer correct, the ECU is reporting errors concerning the flasher relay, says that your turn signal is broken or is simply not strong enough for your turn signals. And now, you have to order different load equalisers and test them on your motorcycle until you find the one with the right value...
The Vari Load can search for the right load with an automatic mode. Just wire the blue cable to ground before you switch on the ignition. Activate the flashers after switching on the ignition and the Vari Load start to search the correct load for your configuration by measurement of the flasher frequency and increasing the load slowly. The correct load value is stored in the Vari Load when the flasher frequency is down to 90 flashes / minute.
The power of the Vari Load is changed by the thin blue cable. Just hold the blue cable against + 12 volts (red) cable and the load will slowly increase in 50 steps up to about 10 watts. If you hold the blue cable against ground cable (black), the load is reduced until it is at 0 watts. Once you disconnect the cable from one of these two cables, the set load value will be saved and recalled the next time you turn it on. A complete run of all retrievable power values takes about 20 seconds. The built-in LED thus flashes up to 50 times when the power value changes and indirectly indicates the set value by its number of flashing lights. As soon as one of the two limits (0 watts or approx. 10 watts) is reached, it lights up permanently.
Incidentally, the Vari Load is also a cool tool for your workshop and a must in every toolbox. You can easily set the necessary load for the flasher relay via the device and then replace it with the required resistance value that you can find in the table on page 2 of the installation instructions.
The Vari Load can produce loads up to 10 Watt, other devices mostly only up to about 1 Watt, what in many cases is much too low if you want to change the old halogen bulbs for LEDs. The Vari load is very easy to understand and configure to your project. The Vari load is waterproof.
